Iran Thanks Pakistan for Support at UN Council

ISLAMABAD – Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam has expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its principled stance at the UN. He thanked Pakistan for providing unwavering support to Iran during discussions at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
In a statement, the ambassador said Pakistan voted against an anti-Iran resolution at the council. He praised the country’s principled role under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. He described Pakistan’s position as a courageous and significant step on the international stage.
Ambassador Moghaddam added that Pakistan’s call for a vote challenged what he called an unjust resolution against Iran. He noted that political and baseless actions against Iran have now faced their third consecutive failure.
He further stated that attempts to misuse international institutions and the 12-day externally supported unrest in Iran have failed. He said Pakistan’s support demonstrates its commitment to justice, human rights, multilateralism, and national sovereignty.
